Prerequisites
Operating Systems
The following operating systems are supported by Emma:
- Windows 8.1 64-bit - End of support in 2023-01-17
- Windows 10 64-bit
- Windows 11 64-bit
Other Hardware
Required hardware for using Emma:
- One or more of the following connectors/cables: USB (Micro USB Cable, USB-C Cable).
- A USB Activation Dongle for activation services.
NOTE!
We recommend that the USB cables are connected directly to the computers USB sockets.
If a hub is used, it should be a good quality USB 2.0 hub, with external power supply.
PC Recommendations
Required PC hardware for using Emma.

Parallel Flashing Recommendations
You can flash up to ten devices at the same time depending on hardware.
User Types
Depending on what user level you are on you will have different needs on hardware and performance.

Network Requirements
Local firewall(s) must allow all traffic to the below addresses.
- software.sonymobile.com/* port 80 and port 443.
- cs.secs.sonymobile.com/* port 443
- CRL (Certificate Revocation List) distribution points:
- crl3.digicert.com/* port 80.
- crl4.digicert.com/* port 80.
Internet Bandwidth Recommendations
To guarantee communication with the Emma server a recommended Internet bandwidth has been estimated below.
If you do not follow the recommendations Sony cannot guarantee the functionality.
